## **White Oak Farmhouse Tables: Creamy Tones & Lasting Beauty**

White oak brings a fresh, natural look to a farmhouse table. Its soft, creamy tones and tighter grain make it a beautiful choice for a dining space that feels warm and welcoming without being overly rustic.

At Furniture From The Barn, we build our white oak tables using **select white oak or rustic white oak**. Whether you prefer a cleaner, more consistent look or a little extra warmth and character, we can help you choose the right wood for your table.

### **Select White Oak: A Cleaner, More Consistent Look**

If you love the creamy tones of white oak and want a more consistent appearance, **select white oak** is a wonderful choice. We select boards with a cleaner look to create a tabletop that lets the wood's natural beauty shine.

There will always be some variation in solid wood, but select white oak is our choice for a more even look rather than the dramatic color differences that can occur in reclaimed white oak.

### **Rustic White Oak: Warmth & Character**

**Rustic white oak** offers a little more warmth and natural character, with more highs and lows in the wood's color and appearance. It is a beautiful option if you want the soft tones of white oak with a more relaxed, rustic feel.

The result is a table with its own personality—one that celebrates the natural variation of the wood without relying on reclaimed boards.

### **A Tighter, More Refined Grain**

White oak has a **tighter-looking grain** than the more pronounced, swirly grain often associated with red oak. This gives it a quieter appearance that works beautifully in both classic farmhouse rooms and more contemporary spaces.

Its combination of creamy color and refined grain is one of the reasons white oak is such a sought-after choice for dining tables.

### **Hard, Durable & Worth the Investment**

White oak is a **hard, durable wood**, well suited to a dining table that will be used and enjoyed every day. It brings together strength, natural beauty, and the craftsmanship of a table made for your home.

White oak does have a **higher price point**. For those who love its color and grain, it makes a beautiful investment in a table built around the look they want.

## **Why We No Longer Use Reclaimed White Oak**

Reclaimed white oak can vary dramatically in color. Some boards are very light, while others are quite brown, making it difficult to achieve the consistent, creamy tones many of our customers are looking for. That is why we now use select white oak or rustic white oak for our white oak tables.

Some of the tables pictured below were made with reclaimed white oak in the past. They remain examples of our table designs; for a new white oak table, we will help you choose between select and rustic white oak.

**Made to Order, Made to Love**
