Our Order Process

The images on our site show examples of pieces we have made for other customers. Your piece will have a unique character due to the wood used. While most of the furniture we create is customized, we also offer standard pieces such as hall trees, vanities, and hutches.

To start the process of ordering furniture from us:

  1. Click on the image of the piece you desire, read the details, and fill out the inquiry form with the following information for your desired piece:
    • Size
    • Wood species
    • Type of finish for example, “42” Hall Tree with top cubbies in Reclaimed Pine. Black Milk Paint frame and stained backing.”
  2. We will respond to refine the details. It’s helpful if you can measure the space where the furniture will go and send photos.
  3. Moving forward:
    • We will email an informal estimate.
    • If you approve the estimate, we will send you a formal quote.
    • For very detailed custom pieces, we recommend drawings. Barn door cabinets are an example of a piece where drawings are needed. We charge $400 for a drawing with three renderings. You will receive the drawing in an email within a couple of days. When you approve the drawing, we will send you a formal quote for your piece. This $400 fee will be credited back to you on your final invoice.
    • We require a 50% deposit, and once we receive it, your order will be placed in the queue.
  4. Building Queue:
    • Depending on the type of furniture, the lead time can be estimated. For custom pieces, it can take from 4-12 weeks. If we have the standard piece in stock, it can take only 2 weeks before it’s finished and ready to ship.
    • During the building process, we will contact you about hardware choices such as knobs, pulls, etc. if applicable to your piece. We will send you an email with instructions, information, and links to hardware companies where you can make your selection.
  5. When the piece comes into the finishing shop, and it’s made from reclaimed wood:
    • We will send you updates and images as it’s being finished. Due to the variation of color inherent in reclaimed wood, we often need to tweak stain colors. We have many “special sauces” for this purpose!
    • With new wood, the decision on your stain or paint finish is usually made during the formal quote process as there is less variation from piece to piece. We have many stain color samples, and we can email pictures of them to you. They can be on White or Red Oak, Cherry, Maple, and Walnut. This can pertain to chairs, also.
  6. Once the piece is finished:
    • We normally do photo shoots and send you images. Often, we post them on social media!
    • We will know the delivery schedule and reconfirm whether you would like in-home with setup or curbside delivery. We only work with private shippers. We do not send any of our pieces via freight (UPS, FedEx, etc.).
    • We will let you know when your piece is picked up from our shop and an approximate time as to when it will be delivered.
    • Your final invoice will be sent and must be paid before the shipper’s arrival at our shop. Included in the email with your invoice, you will receive the Furniture Care and Warranty document.
  7. When your piece arrives:
    • Please give us some feedback! A lot of care goes into each order, and we hope you love your new piece and that it is exactly as you envisioned it… or better!
    • Send us a photo! We love to see our pieces in our customers’ homes.
