Our family business designs, fabricates, and hand-finishes furniture from both reclaimed barn wood and new wood. Spanning three generations, our business takes in the energy of our farm as well as the rural community in which we live.

Kelly
Owner / Sales / Artisan
Kelly is the creative force and master artisan behind FURNITURE FROM THE BARN bringing her artistic taste and design expertise to every customer interaction and furniture sale. Known as the "mother hen" of the operation, Kelly ensures that each piece is crafted with meticulous attention to detail from start to finish. Her passion for design is matched by her commitment to providing exceptional customer service, making every client feel valued and appreciated. In her downtime, Kelly enjoys practicing yoga and pilates, which help her maintain balance and focus. She finds inspiration in the natural beauty of Longwood Gardens and is deeply committed to animal rescue efforts. Living on a farm surrounded by animals brings her joy, especially when she spends time with her beloved grandson.
Michael
Owner / Draftsman / Master Carpenter
Michael is a master carpenter with over 38 years of experience, largely self-taught, and was a member of Philadelphia's Carpentry Union for several decades. His expertise in carpentry is extensive, allowing him to build anything made of wood, from furniture to structural elements of his 1813 farmhouse. Michael is also responsible for overseeing the team in the building shop and working on custom furniture designs. Additionally, hardware is one of his specialties. Michael is involved daily in maintaining and managing the family farm, ensuring everything is in top condition. Michael enjoys fly fishing, especially in Montana, and especially loves spending time with his grandson.
Casey & Rebecca
Machines & Special Projects
Casey, a third-generation family business owner. He has a natural resource management degree from the Pennsylvania College of Technology. After college, he had a three-year adventure in the oil industry, working in North Dakota and Wyoming. Now, he's a full-time employee of Caterpillar, making sure all the vehicles and machines run smoothly. Casey's wife, Rebecca, is also from a farm in nearby Maryland. Together, they have a young son named Wyatt who brings so much happiness to their lives. They love camping, spending time with family during the county fair, and hanging out with their dogs, Zeke and Olive.
Caitlyn (CAT)
Marketing Administrator
Caitlyn is the other half of the family business's third generation. Being a true 'entrepreneuress' she has earned several undergraduate degrees in business school and then went on to attend Vermont Law school with an environmental law degree. She now works for The Nature Conservancy and lives on a ranch in Montana with her five horses and two dogs. She will soon be married to her Fiancee Evan. She assists in the business marketing duties, as well as social media. Caitlyn loves riding horses and teaching riding lessons to younger pony club members in Montana.
George (Pop)
Carpenter / Restoration Expert
Pop George is Kelly's father who sparked her interest in refinishing old furniture pieces. Originally from New Jersey, Pop was a project foreman for DuPont for 38 years but was always building and restoring furniture in his spare time. Currently residing in sunny Florida, Pop flies up several times a year to help out on various large projects. He loves his sweet tea and Jersey tomatoes!
Patty
Finishing Shop Manager / Artisan
Patty has been with us for 13 years now. She is one of our artisans who has an eye for color and creative finishing techniques. Always wearing multiple hats, she also is an art teacher at Lincoln University and has taught numerous courses in Fine Art & Design at various schools in the area, and works as a local artist. She resides on a small farm with a family of furred and feathered friends and goats and enjoys riding horses in her spare time.
Reenie
Administrative Assistant / Artisan
Joining us 10 years ago, Reenie has become a wonderful asset to FFTB. She primarily works in the office and is Kelly right hand girl, we call her the hardware queen but also helps in the shop with the finishing aspects of milk painting and specialized distressing and glazing. She is a local self-taught artist, a fine art impressionist painter, studies and teaches art, and exhibits her work in local galleries. Being a well-traveled and cultured individual, we love Reenie's insight on everything from French cooking to farming in the South of France. Reenie also has horses.
Diego
Shop Foreman
Diego has been with us for many years. He is the glue that keeps our shop running smoothly and is the king of multitasking and does quality control. He remembers every customer order, oversees our finishing shop, and is a liaison between Michael and our builders. He also does a lot of driving to pick up materials. In his free time, he enjoys spending quilty time with his family and two kids. He loves working with us because he says, "every day there is something new and exciting in the shop"
Julianna and Oakie
Office Assistant and Shop Cat
Julianna has been helping us out on our family farm for four years now! In addition to assisting in the office part-time, Jules helps with the daily tasks of taking care of all the farm critters, watering the plants, and editing the website. She has helped Kelly with her design and decorating with several projects such as decorating our Church for Christmas and Casey and Rebecca's wedding. She assisted Kelly with the flowers in making an old barn become a fairy tale wedding! She is currently pursuing a ministry degree and is starting her own ministry called "Wisdom Of Many," which you can look up on social media platforms. Oakie found us in January of 2017 and we named him because he reminded us of a piece of White Oakwood. He watches over our shop by going in and out all day. At night, you can find him sleeping in one of his many beds around the shop. When you pet him he will roll over for a belly rub. With sawdust between his toes, he will certainly greet you if you come for a visit.
Lila
Meet-n-Greet Coordinator
She's small but mighty! Lila is our petite Golden notorious for being the best at playing catch. She has been with the company coming up on 11 years. Her job, keeping up the company morale, is the most important!
Gracie
Funny Girl/Therapist
Meet Gracie, our Greater Swiss Mountain Dog puppy AKA "Swissy" who has brought a fresh wave of joy to our farm and showroom. This gentle giant-in-training exemplifies the classic Swissy traits of friendliness, loyalty, and an eagerness to please. Despite her growing size, Gracie maintains a playful spirit that brings out the puppy in her 14-year-old sister Lila. Their special bond showcases the Swissy's natural ability to adapt and form loving relationships with other dogs. As a true people-person, Gracie delights in greeting our showroom visitors with her characteristic mountain dog charm. Her sociable nature and jovial personality make her a natural ambassador for our family business. True to her breed's heritage in the Swiss Alps, Gracie thrives in the outdoors. She's mastering farm life while exploring our property, and we're eagerly anticipating her first winter adventures in the snow.
Zeke and Olive
Customer Service
Zeke loves coming to our farm to see his MiMi and Pop. Zeke is very well mannered for a young boy and is fiercely loyal. He loves to run and play for Drover and Lila. Zeke lives with Casey and Rebecca. Olive is the newest puppy she is full of energy and loves her brother very much.
